Terms & Conditions of The Beast Foundation Annual Rugby Bootcamp 2021 Application Process
Unless the context provides otherwise, the words and expressions set out below will have the following meanings and cognate expressions shall have corresponding meanings:
1.1 “Bootcamp” means The Beast Foundation Annual Rugby Bootcamp, organised by the Organisation and open only to people residing in the Republic of South Africa.
1.2 “Bootcamp Period” means the duration of time in which the Bootcamp will take place.
1.3 “Applicant” means a person who applies for the Bootcamp.
1.4 “Organisation” means The Beast Foundation, a Non-Profit Organisation with Registration Number: 2020/468140/08, is duly incorporated in accordance with the company laws of the Republic of South Africa.
2. Application of Terms and Conditions
By choosing to apply for acceptance into the Bootcamp, the Applicant agrees to be bound by the following terms and conditions, which the Applicant acknowledges having read and understood.
3. Application Requirements
3.1 To be eligible for Participation in this Bootcamp, an applicant must:
3.1.1 Be a South African citizen or a permanent resident over the age of 16 (sixteen) years. All minors under the age of 18 (eighteen) years must be legally assisted by their parents or legal guardians.
3.1.2 Successfully apply in accordance with the entry eligibility set out in clause 3.3.
3.1.3 Applicants will need to have minimum 1 year of club playing experience. Applicants will be asked to provide a reference. This can be a coach or someone in the position to verify the applicant’s affiliation to a rugby team. This may be current or past.
3.1.4 Agree to permit the Organisation to collect his/her personal information for the purpose of the application process and the Organisation’s product marketing and development.
3.1.5 Undertake to abide by these Rules.
3.2 Participants may only apply through the website application form on www.thebeastfoundation.org.
3.3 To apply for the Bootcamp, Participants must: complete the appliction form and its requirements. You will be required to provide your ID number and a valid identification document.
3.4 Applications received through any medium other than the eligibility form (such as WhatsApp, email, or SMS) shall not be considered.
3.5 “On-the-spot” applications will be available at tryout locations leading up to the Bootcamp. Dates and locations for the tryouts will be communicated on The Beast Foundation website and on the Facebook page www.facebook.com/TheBeastOrg.
3.6 Only Applications received within the Application Period will be considered.
3.7 Applications open April 2021 and close June 2021.
3.8 All applications will be scrutinized and verified. References will be contacted. Should the Organisation not be able to reach any reference person, we will contact the applicant directly. Should any information not be verifiable or false, the application will be annulled immediately.
4. The Bootcamp
4.1 Applicants will be shortlisted and will receive an invitation to try out at a venue in their province on a predetermined time and date.
4.2 50 successful applicants will be selected and officially announced to take part in a 10-day Bootcamp at Jonnson Kings Park in Durban during July 2021.
4.3 Acceptance to the Bootcamp is not transferable or redeemable for cash.
4.4 In the event that the successful applicant cannot be contacted within 24 hours of the final decision or is unable, for any reason whatsoever, to participate in the Bootcamp a replacement participant will be chosen from the remaining qualifying applicants in accordance with the same process and procedures as applicable to the original selection process.
4.5 All travel, accommodation and meals will be covered by the Organisation and its partners. Any costs not pertaining to the Bootcamp and its necessities will not be covered.
5. Use of Personal Information
5.1 Personal information is information relating to a Participant. Personal information includes a Participant’s identity number, passport number, and contact details.
5.2 By applying for this Bootcamp, a Participant agrees that the Organisation may use his/her personal information in connection with the Bootcamp.
5.3 As far as the law allows, each Participant agrees and gives the Organisation permission to collect, get, receive, record, organise, collate, store, update, use and share all of his/her personal information for all purposes relating to the Bootcamp.
5.4 An Applicant may ask the Organisation at any time before the Closing Date to correct or confirm any personal information if it is wrong or out of date.
5.5 Each Applicant warrants that he/she has the authority to allow the Organisation to use his/her personal information for purposes of the Bootcamp. The Organisations will not use any Participant’s personal information in any way which breaks the law and undertakes to keep all personal information of Participants secure and for as long as the law requires.
5.6 The Applicants agree that any photographs taken of them at the Bootcamp become the property of the Organisation to use in any marketing campaigns as the Organisation deems fit. The Participant shall have no claim for any compensation for use of the photograph.
6. Warranties and Indemnities
The Organisation, its employees, officers, directors, agents and associates and the Participating partners, their employees, officers, directors, agents and associates (the “Indemnified Parties’’) shall not be liable for and the Participants hereby indemnify and hold the Indemnified Parties harmless from any claim, liability, cost, expense or penalty suffered or incurred by any person because of participating in the Bootcamp.
7. Force Majeure
In the event of any act of God, strike, war, warlike operation, rebellion, riot, civil commotion, lockout, a combination of workmen, interference of trade unions, suspension of labour, fire, accident, or (without regard to the foregoing enumeration) of any circumstances arising or action taken beyond or outside the reasonable control of the Organisation preventing them from the performance of any obligation to a Participant (any such event hereinafter called “Force Majeure”) then the Organisation shall be relieved of all such obligations to the Participant during the period that such Force Majeure continues and shall not be liable for any delay or failure in the performance of any obligations or loss or damage which the Participant may suffer due to or resulting from the Force Majeure.
8.1 The Organisation may in its sole and absolute discretion amend these terms and conditions at any time, by publishing the revised terms and conditions on www.thebeastfoundation.org.
8.2 The Bootcamp is not open to any director, member, partner, owner, employee, agent of, consultant to, or anyone associated with or affiliated to the Organisation.
8.3 In the event of a dispute regarding any aspect of the Bootcamp and/or these terms and conditions, the Organisation’s decision will be binding and final and no correspondence will be entered into.
8.4 The Organisation reserves the right to cancel, suspend or terminate the Bootcamp at any time and without notice to the Participants.
8.5 The venues and dates of the national roadshow and bootcamp are subject to change without prior notice at the discretion of the organisers.
