INITIALLY LAUNCHED IN 2021, THE ANNUAL RUGBY BOOTCAMP IS AN ALL-EXPENSES-PAID LEARNING CAMP FOR ASPIRING RUGBY PLAYERS.

Open to both boys and girls aged between 16 and 20 years, the camp seeks to find the next generation of rugby stars and will include intense Rugby training and life skills development from top professionals and experts. Growing from an initial national recruitment drive of 50 Bootcampers, a new approach has been adopted to ensure that we add value in the provincial Rugby initiatives, building within their local talent retention plans. An incredible 60 Bootcampers will now be scouted per region for the camps, ensuring that we reach more aspiring players through our provincial recruitment.

Our first set of try-outs was held in Durban on the 12th of July 2022, leading to an intense 4-day Rugby Bootcamp from 13th to 16th July.

Further updates will be provided regarding the next round of regional tryouts so keep your eyes peeled for more information. For any inquiries or information regarding The Beast Foundation Annual Rugby Bootcamps, send an email to info@thebeastfoundation.org

ANNUAL RUGBY BOOTCAMP KZN
12-16 July 2022

Tryouts for the KZN leg of the Annual Rugby Bootcamp 2022 began on the 12th of July, where over 200 of KZN’s finest sporting youth attended and pushed themselves to their limits. Breaking our normal Bootcamp convention of having 60 recruits, we had a groundbreaking 63 athletes – 33 girls and 30 boys – make it past Tryouts and start their new journey.

This leg of the Rugby Bootcamp was a time of mass euphoria as we got underway. Day 1 and 2 presented immense physical and mental challenges as our young athletes grappled with some of the hardest aspects of the sport. They were surprised and spurred on by ‘The Beast’ himself, who offered tips to keep them encouraged, as well as being one of their head coaches and mentors. Throughout our final two days, the kids continued their training with The Beast and received further coaching and insight from some of the sport’s most established professionals. Once their training had been completed, a closing ceremony was held to celebrate their remarkable talent and present them with certificates to commemorate their achievements.
